Striking, breathtaking, and beautiful are just a few words that come to mind when I think about Ashley and Alex’s wedding at The Washington Club located at historic Patterson Mansion in Washington D.C. Ashley was fabulous to work with and I had so much fun working with her.

Ashley and Alex chose a beautiful wedding color scheme in which a classic periwinkle took center stage, accenting with modest hues of yellows and whites. For the boutonnières, we chose a single white rose lined with periwinkle delphinium blooms. For these fun-loving bridesmaids, we used bright yellow ranunculus with fairy-bell flowers that really popped against their dresses. All of these elements combined together in Ashley’s bouquet as well!

Some brides believe that over-the-top ceremony décor is the only way to go. If your venue is as lovely as The Patterson Mansion, we suggest pairing this idyllic atmosphere with simple, timeless details. We designed a garland for the mantle that was the perfect complement to the overall tone of the venue. To brighten up the room, white chrysanthemums, snapdragons, and a touch of dark blue delphinium adorned the dark chivari chairs, creating a bright and sleek look.

Many thanks to Erin J Photography for capturing these great moments so we could share them today!

The show-stopping boutonnière from Danielle & Joshua’s spring wedding is one of my favorites to date! The hot pink Aster Matsumoto combined with a beautiful orange Ranunculus bloom created the perfect vibrant mix- a statement indeed!

Thank you to Pharris Photography for providing us this week’s Friday Eye Candy!

Every detail of their wedding was perfectly stylized to play off the vineyard setting. This duo is a match made in heaven and we feel so lucky to have been a part of their big day.

Pink Lady apples, champagne grapes, and blooms full of rich, vibrant tones – we don’t think Sue and Roger’s lovely wedding at Breaux Vineyards could have been any more perfect. Every detail of their wedding was perfectly styled to play off the vineyard setting. This duo is a match made in heaven and we feel so lucky to have been a part of their big day.

Cherry brandy roses were paired with bursting orange blooms and freshly harvested apples. The bright hues were incorporated in everything from the mantle where Sue and Roger said, “I do” to the centerpieces and reception seating. The different shades of peach and orange hues were a refreshing departure from the typically darker hues chosen for winery settings.

Despite a rain-filled day, everything came together beautifully and emphasized the vineyard atmosphere. One of my favorite floral décor details was the towering branch centerpieces accessorized with hanging votives and petite roses. And, who can miss the darling moss table numbers?!

Thank you to Kristi Odom Photography for capturing these beautiful photos!

With endless styles and directions to go in, chuppahs are always a joy to design! For this Friday Eye Candy, we’re featuring one of our favorite chuppahs from Alyssa & Matt’s wedding at historic Josephine Butler Parks Center.

The stage for the chuppah encompassed the bride and groom underneath a hand-crocheted covering made by a special friend. This delicate covering served as the canopy and added beautiful texture to the rustic feel of the chuppah.

The coral, peach, grey, and ivory hues served as a great contrast to the birch structure while still making a beautiful statement. There was no shortage of beautiful blooms, as roses, pincushions, hypericum berries, and dusty miller adorned the corners of the birch poles and complemented Alyssa and her bridesmaids’ bouquets. Once it was completed, the chuppah was the very essence of a rustic romance aesthetic, don’t you think?

Thank you to Amber Wilkie for helping us making this week’s Friday Eye Candy possible!

Over the years we have used so many different types of vessels to hold flowers, from mason jars to terracotta pots, and even delicate little teacups.

We just loved working with purple-hued flowers and creating the submerged arrangements for their centerpieces. These history buffs used photos of past presidents in place of traditional table numbers which is just perfect for DC!

These decorative oil rubbed bronze metal swirls add a touch of warmth to this organic style bouquet.

We love added pearl accents to these ceremony flowers. It went along with the elegant and vintage feel of the wedding day.

Metal played an important role in this bride’s bouquet. The gold metal ribbon was woven in and out of the blooms, and accents of spiral wire add an industrial chic touch. This embellishment is a perfect way to incorporate the metal trend throughout the entire day.

If you are looking for a little sparkle, adding a rhinestone to the center of a flower is the perfect touch fit for a princess.

2018 Floral Trends http://www.bergeronsflowers.com/2018-floral-trends/ http://www.bergeronsflowers.com/2018-floral-trends/#respond Tue, 09 Jan 2018 03:11:38 +0000 http://www.bergeronsflowers.com/?p=1643 We are excited about the trends that are going to be big this year, and we can't wait to meet with our 2018 couples to put their floral plans into action. If you are still searching for inspiration for your wedding this year, we are going to break down the trends for you, so take notes and be ahead of the curve.

Wreaths
These are not just for the holiday season anymore. Wreaths are a making their way into weddings of all seasons. Years ago they were a staple on the church doors, but now oversized versions will start popping up behind dessert tables or a sweetheart table used as a ceremony backdrop or as a photo prop. We love when the couple adds a calligraphy scroll to the middle with their names or a favorite quote.

Floral Jewelry
Floral crowns were around for years, but now the trend is moving more towards a small tiara version that is tied. Couples will also consider floral necklaces or full bracelet corsages for bridesmaids, grandmothers or mothers.

Greenery
Greenery was Pantone’s color of the year for 2017, but it is here to stay in 2018! The real greenery trend is here to stay. You will see eucalyptus, magnolia leaves, and other foliage in bouquets, centerpieces, and garland. Greenery is a great economical way to enhance the size arrangements.

Large Installations and Smaller Tabletop Pieces
Showstopping pieces like floral walls at the reception and ceremony are for a perfect focal point and always attract guests for a photo opp. I guess we can thank Kim Kardashian and Kanye West for this one! Flowers are also being hung from chandeliers to bring the outdoors in for an etherial enchanted forest feel. With such big statement pieces, we would suggest going simple with your centerpieces with low vases and votive candles.
