Why You Should Embrace Your Season

When thinking about décor for your wedding, one of the biggest things to consider are your flowers. The best thing about flowers is that there are hundreds to choose from, and there are beautiful flowers for every season! As florists we are always trying to encourage couples to embrace the season they are getting married in because there are so many benefits!

For the budget-savvy couples, picking flowers that are in season at the time of your wedding is a great way to save some money. Because there are a lot more of those blooms available, the price drops significantly.

By embracing the season, there are big opportunities to get a lot of your décor items from craft stores like Michaels. They flood their stores with seasonal items you can use. Fun fact! If you are having a long engagement, take advantage of the sales craft stores have right after your wedding season. For example, if you’re having a spring wedding, head over just before July 4th when they are transitioning spring for summer and everything is on clearance!

Let your creativity run wild with seasonal details throughout your ceremony and reception. For example, if you’re getting married in the fall, have some hot cider available before the ceremony and dress up the table with fall flowers, apples, and crate boxes. Or for a summer wedding, make little sacks of your favorite flower seeds for wedding favors with a fun quote stamped on the front.

There are so many fun and memorable ways to incorporate the season into your wedding. Always remember to plan ahead so you can take advantage of sales and stay organized. We have been seeing some wonderful creations from couples and continue to look forward to what’s coming up this year!
